Left vs right wind identification

Left wind: the last coil of the spring exits upward on the left of the shaft, and the spring is usually mounted on the right side of the center bracket.

Right wind: the last coil exits upward on the right of the shaft, and the spring is usually mounted on the left side of the center bracket.

Left + right pair: most residential sectional doors with two springs use one left wind and one right wind spring.
